Economic Outlook for Developing Countries 2012-2013

As discussed in this report, the United Nations recently expressed concerns about the slow recovery from the global financial crisis and the possibility that the global economy could suffer another major downturn. If such a downturn were to occur, the impact on income growth in developing countries, which had rebounded strongly from the global recession, would be substantial and the UN highlighted several key issues for developing countries over the next two years including unemployment and underemployment, inflation, increased volatility in private capital flows, continued volatility in international prices of oil and other primary commodities and moderating growth in the level of world trade.
